The F type Lea-Francis was built on the same chassis as the E-Type with the same Meadows 4EB engine and was identical except for having a three-speed gearbox.
Engine | Meadows 4EB, 1247cc, 9.8hp, 19bhp |
Wheelbase | 8' 9" |
Track | 3' 8" |
The F Type was offered with either two or four-seater touring coachwork, by Robinson and Avon respectively. The less sophisticated gearbox meant the car sold for £12. 10s less than the equivalent four-speed E type.
Approximately 99 F types were built.
The F type pictured here is a 1924 model, owned by a Club member and is thought to be the only one to have survived.
